Community Update December 2017

2017 Accomplishments for Goal 1: Foster leadership opportunities and civic engagement across all generations and ethnicity

The 2018 Leadership Fayette class took on an exciting endeavor this fall; the completion of a civic health survey. The survey was done in conjunction with the National Conference on Citizenship and the Georgia Family Connection allowing Fayette County’s data to be compiled with state and national data. With help from Fayette Factor and AVPRIDE, Leadership Fayette collected more than 600 surveys. The results will be reported in the February edition of the Fayette Visioning newsletter.

Goal 2: Welcome, connect and celebrate all residents and create new engagement opportunities

Our community is loaded with activities and opportunities to engage and enjoy. The newest thing is Night Market held at Drake Field in Peachtree City. Join us for Stories on the Square, and visit Kenwood Park and the Ridge for outdoor beauty.

Goal 3:  Sustain Fayette’s excellence in public health and safety

The health and safety of our community is of the utmost importance.  AVPRIDE and FACTOR continue to work together and lead Drug Free Fayette with two goals: to strengthen community collaboration focused on substance abuse and to reduce teen substance abuse across Fayette County.
Not every county can boast having its cities with police departments all on Safewise’s list of Top 50 Safest Cities in Georgia. With more than 500 cities in the state, this means Fayette County’s municipalities are in the top 10 percent.
